You've reached Joshua Fried, composer, performer, and producer, at joshuafried.com.

If this page looks strange to you, it might be because there are no ads, no tracking and nothing fancy. Just a bunch of links. Like Linktree I guess. Only it's mine.

Composer, performer, tech-head, and trickster, Joshua Fried played tape loops at CBGB, Mudd Club, Club 57, Pyramid, PS 122, Danceteria, and Limelight, as well as in LA, Chicago, Paris, and Amsterdam.

His gibberish music theater has been staged at Lincoln Center, The Kitchen, La MaMa, BAM, HERE Arts Center, and in Europe.

As RADIO WONDERLAND, Joshua performed with a steering wheel, boombox, old shoes struck with sticks, and laptop—appearing at Joe’s Pub, le Poisson Rouge, and Lincoln Center, as well as in Tokyo, Berlin, Milan, Paris, and Venice.

As a producer, he’s worked with Chaka Khan, They Might Be Giants, David First, and others. He signed with Atlantic Records as a dance artist in the 1980s and became the youngest composer featured in American Music in the 20th Century (Schirmer Books).

His honors include two NYFA Fellowships, a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, and residencies at MacDowell, Yaddo, and Bellagio. The American Composers Forum awarded him two major commissions—for Douglas Dunn & Dancers and for LEMUR (League of Electronic Musical Urban Robots).

Joshua’s music has been released on the free103point9, Trace, clang, Tellus, phse, and Atlantic Records labels.

Now, with phse, Joshua is reinventing himself again, with a new label, new style, and an urgent need to make urgently hypnotic patterns.
